We are a dynamic medium sized exporting company (40 FTE’s) with a rich history and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers in many countries. As representative of renowned brand manufacturers we add value to the export process of our principals and to the supply chain of our customers. Our customers are located -amongst others – in Suriname, the Caribbean, French overseas territories (DOMTOM) and North Africa. We are driven by the continuous professionalization of our services.
EXPORT LOGISTICS & ADMINISTRATION EMPLOYEE
- CHARACTERISTICS: international shipments / container transports / deadlines / overview/ numerical and administrative insight / accuracy / never a dull moment / full time / Almere
- SPECIFICS: fulltime / Almere
- LANGUAGES: Dutch / English (both required), French (advantage)
- EXPERIENCE: Logistics, road and sea transport, document processing incoming and outgoing goods, checks, invoicing
- KEY CUSTOMERS: Colleagues of sales and finance departments, customers, vendors, stevedores, shipping lines
- KEY AREAS: sales and procurement in over 30 countries
- YOU ARE: a well versed logistic professional, communicative, service oriented, collegiate, open minded, learning attitude, fluent in Dutch and English. Knowledge of Excel.
WHAT WE OFFER
- we offer a challenging and interesting logistical/administrative position on full time basis in a professional, international trading organization active in over 30 countries.
- as co-operating foreman/woman you are responsible for the operational management of our Shipping Team (6 FTEs).
- the shipments originate from Europe and the Far East, with final destination the Caribbean, Pacific, South America and North Africa.
- you maintain intensive relationships with suppliers and logistic service providers like carriers, stevedores and shipping lines.
- next to logistics you are also responsible for the administrative processing and control of purchase invoices and order confirmations (incoming goods) and the invoicing of shipments (outgoing goods). This administrative process is an essential element of our Export Shipping Department and of this function. To this end, you maintain frequent contacts with your colleagues of the Sales and Finance departments.

- working from home is (partly) possible, but the learning and familiarization process will certainly require attendance at our office in Almere at the start.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR NEW COLLEAGUE
- you have relevant experience in logistics, and administrative document processing of procurement and sales processes.
- you have relevant experience with logistical processes, export documents, the bookings of transports and are familiar with Incoterms.
- you are proficient in both Dutch and English. Knowledge of the French language is not a must but an advantage.
- you are familiar with MS Excel.
- you get things done and keep oversight amongst deadlines, pressure and hectic circumstances. You are decisive, a quick thinker and you always keep your eyes on the ball. You know in export logistics the devil is in the details.
- you enjoy being responsible for the entire process: shipping, administrative checks and invoicing.
- you understand the importance of your role as last station in the logistical process, and you oversee the consequences of your decisions for customers, vendors, stevedores and your colleagues. You are alert, accurate, responsible and you follow all important details. An assertive and persistent attitude are import to be successful in this role. What you do is correct, accurate and leaves no room for interpretation.
- you work in a structured way, you are accurate and you like to systematically administer things for yourself and your colleagues. You are familiar with Excel.
- you have an education at Bachelor level (Dutch HBO).
- you are the pleasant colleague who – like us – thrives on intensive co-operation in an international working environment.
